Avalanche Skills Training Course Level one
The course day will be one five hour classroom session on the Friday night starting at 5;30 pm as well as one full day in the Apex mountain back country on the Saturday starting sharply at 8;00 a.m. to finish... participants must bring their own snowmobile or snow bike and a backpack with a beacon an avalanche probe and a shovel as well as all the necessary gear to be out in the mountains for a full day must bring their own lunch as well.
A complete Avalanche skills training course level one specifically taught for snowmobiliers and how they interact with the back country. This course will teach you everything you need to know how to stay safe in the back country, how to spot and stay out of Avalanche terrain as well as companion rescue skills and snow pack study and assessment as well as many other vital skills to keep you and your riding partners alive and safe. Course to be held for one night of classroom at 216 Hastings Ave 6:00-10 pm dates TBD Then one full day held in the Apex back country starting at 8 am sharp till finished. Saturday Feb 17th. Course will be taught by Finbar O Sullivan and Darren Venne with help with course signup and promotion by Stuart Drake. The course will contain 12 people maximum and each participant must bring their own Snowmobile or Snow bike and backpack with a Beacon and a avalanche probe and a shovel as well as the necessary gear to spend a day on a mountain.
